1. Chances of two different irises having the same pattern (uniqueness)
The odds of two people having the same fingerprint are a billion-to-one and in case of iris patterns the probability is 10 raise to the 78th power-to-one which converges to 0%. iris pattern between twins are different and even the left and right eye of a person have different patterns.
2. Formation of the iris pattern (permanence)
Unlike other body parts which slightly change by time, the formation of iris pattern is completed before 20 months after birth and never changes from then.
3. Relation of iris authentication to eye disease
Eye disease has nothing to do with iris authentication. In case a person dies or the eye ball is enucleated, the pupil dilatates and it becomes impossible to conduct iris authentication.
