IRIENCE Iris Algorithm™ is capable of recognizing and comparing iris and can be easily embedded in various biometric devices. The algorithm received excellent results in overall at the IREX IX iris recognition evaluation of NIST. We obtained certification not only from KISA on performance evaluationa and standardization conformance test but also on conformance test of distributing administration and algorithm performance test from the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute.

1. Generating an iris template

IRIENCE can save and compare iris information by converting the iris pattern into frequency values by using the wavelet conversion technology.

2. Authentication speed

1:1 and 1:N authentication function are available and in case of 1:N authentication, at least more than 10 million iris data per second can be processed. Iris recognition technology capable of 1:N authentication in real time

3. Removing glint

IRIENCE technology first pixelates the glint part of the original iris image, calculates the average value of the pupil area and finally restores it into a unique iris image.

Use Contract for IRIENCE Iris Algorithm End User

User right contract for IRIENCE Iris Algorithm end user This ‘user right contract for end user’ is a contract made by you(individual or a single enterprise) and IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. concerning the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm specified above. This IRIENCE Iris algorithm includes the SDK(Software Development Kit) and can also include an iris recognition module. All of the additional components related with the SDK product that IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. offers are included in the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm. This document is provided with the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm and in case of SDK which is related separately to the ‘use contract for IRIENCE Iris Algorithm end user’, user right is offered according to the content of the contract document. You are considered to agree with the terms of this user right contract from the very moment you start to access or use the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm. In case you disagree with the terms of this user right contract or do not pay the relevant costs, you cannot use the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm. SDK is protected by the copyright law, Universal copyright convention, other acts or conventions on intellectual property. Considering the installation characteristic of SDK, any change, modification, deletion regarding this use contract will not be announced or applied in real time whenever it occurs and will be applied based on the latest version of the IRIENCE Iris Algorithm use contract form that IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. officially announces by a legitimate way determined by itself. If you raise an objection or refuse to apply the changed contents even if IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. announced contract changes by a legitimate way and you checked the contents, you will be considered to automatically agree with the changed contents of the contract unless IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. separately pronounces an overt document. Article 1. Appellation and definition 1. Appellation : The appellation IRIENCE Iris Algorithm hereinafter will be referred to as ‘algorithm.’ The title of the development company, IRIENCE Co.,Ltd. hereinafter will be referred to as ‘development company.’ 2. Definition : A service licensing the Software Development Kit, hereinafter referred to as ‘SDK’, for the use and development of the algorithm. Article 2. Purpose The purpose is to stipulate overall contents regarding the use of ‘algorithm’ between the ‘development company’ and the license purchaser/user, hereinafter referred to as ‘user.’ Article 3. Copyright and range of use of the ‘algorithm’ 1. The ‘development company’ has a proprietary right and copyright to the ‘algorithm’ and ‘all of the SDK included in the algorithm.’ 2. All authority included in the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ belongs to the ‘development company.’ 3. ‘User’ shall not expropriate ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ under any circumstances. 4. ‘User’ shall comply with the Copyright act of Republic of Korea, International Copyright treaty and other relevant acts and shall not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble this ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ except a limited scope explicitly allowed by relevant regulations. ‘User’ shall not use this ‘algorithm’ and ’SDK’ after copying, modifying, rewriting the whole or part of these program and shall not copy or distribute this product or relevant print-outs without a previous permission for the ‘development company.’ 5. Approval of use defined in this contract does not mean allowing the proprietary right and copyright of the ‘algorithm.’ 6. On the premise that the ‘user’ abides by this contract, the ‘user’ acquires a non-proprietary, non-transferable, non-subcontracting license with a restricted commercial use under the exclusive control of the ‘development company.’ 7. Copying, distribution, exhibition, demonstration in public, usage of the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ for commercial use is strictly banned. Furthermore, re-accreditation, sales, rental, lease, or other distribution of a copy of the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ shall be restricted except the entity, hereinafter referred to as the ‘supplier’, obtains an overt permission according to a written contract which contains a legitimate authority accepted by the ‘development company.’ 8. Any attempt to modify, translate, decompile, reverse-engineer the source code defining the license of the ‘algorithm’ or find, obtain by other means is strictly banned. Once a violation is found, the ‘development company’ will immediately cancel the license of the ‘user’, prohibit the use of every equipment that the ‘user’ developed by taking advantage of the ‘solution’, websites, modules, and other commercial and noncommercial activities. The ‘user’ shall be liable for civil and criminal responsibility as by law enacted. 9. ‘Algorithm’ is licensed by a single product. The ‘user’ shall not disconnect any component of the ‘SDK’ in order to use it in more than one license and cannot redistribute, reveal, rent this for a commercial, non-commercial, community purpose. 10. The ‘algorithm’ shows an optimal performance based on an operating system, program that the ‘development company’ explicitly concedes through its homepage or a separate document. In case the ‘user’ activates the ‘algorithm’ on an operating system, program that he arbitrarily decided and chose, the ‘development company’ perceives it as an abnormal operation, can give a technical advice regarding the matter and the ‘user’ shall not claim any legal responsibility from the ‘development company’ during the abnormal operation. Article 4. Approval of use, payment on the ‘algorithm’ / protection of intellectual property rights (copyright software) 1. Use of the ‘algorithm’ is approved immediately after the license fee set by the company is paid and installation is completed. The whole user right shall not be approved if the ‘user’ gets disqualified by a certain reason. 2. The ‘algorithm’ can not be used by installing an illegal copy without authorization. 3. For convenience of the ‘user’, he can copy the data resulted from the ‘algorithm’ and save one copy for backup at his computer. 4. Every selling price of ‘SDK’ is set based on the license price list of the ‘development company’ and can change frequently without any previous notification according to the circumstances of the ‘development company.’ 5. The selling price of a license is applied to one user(purchaser) based on the purpose of use, applied media, and number of people sharing it. 6. All intellectual property rights/copyrights concerning products, annexed printouts, and the ‘algorithm’ belongs to the ‘development company.’ 7. ‘Algorithm’ is not sold but licensed. This contract does not grant any intellectual property right included in ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ except an overt rule is stated on the license. 8. Operation, code, architecture, implementation of the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ as well as all authority and copyrights of the software and the software itself is a valuable intellectual property of the ‘development company.’ The ‘development company’ holds all rights even not assigned explicitly in accordance with the license. Article 5. Rights and duties concerning the use of the ‘algorithm’ 1. User A. First if the ‘user’ agrees with the contract, he/she must submit a purchase request by a form fixed by the ‘development company.’ Use of the ‘algorithm’ will be approved after the payment deposit is confirmed. B. A purchased single ‘algorithm’ product can be installed and used on one personal computer or an access controller and smartphone of the ‘user’. If the ‘user’ intends to use the approved license on more than one of his/her personal computers, the’user’ shall pay additional fee to the ‘development company.’ If a double-use after an illegal duplication or source code change is caught, a penalty of 30 times the license fee shall be collected. ‘User’ cannot use the ‘algorithm’ to deal with illegal products and services which becomes an offense against public morals based on the commercial law and electronic commerce law of the Republic of Korea. In case the ‘user’ arbitrarily breaks the law, the ‘development company’ does not accept any liability and can immediately demand deletion, modification, shutdown to the ‘user.’ The ‘user’ shall follow the opinion of the ‘development company.’ 2. The ‘development company’ A. Regarding any bug or inconveniences of the ‘algorithm’ claimed by the user, the ‘development company’ shall immediately deal with the matter if the claim turns out to be reasonable. If an immediate response is impossible, the ‘development company’ shall notify the ‘user’ with an adequate explanation. Article 6 Obligations of ‘developers’ and ‘consumer/users’ on ‘Algorithms 1. The system and management of ‘Algorithms’ ‘Developer’ confirms the requirements and provides ‘SDK’ without any defects, but ‘SDK’ can be replaced from the ‘developer’ in 5 days after it is verified that it has defects. Article 7 Service Assurance 1. ‘Developer’ does not assure the products that ‘users’ developed using ‘Algorithm’ as the ‘developer’ sells the products under the belief that the ‘Algorithm’ is already in the best condition. However, trustworthy solutions can be offered by ‘developer’ when it is considered to be reasonable. 2. The ‘developer’ can improve its performance constantly on unexpected bugs occurred during the process of developing ‘Algorithm’. 3. ‘Developer’ considers as it has achieved its duty on ‘Algorithm’ development when it sells and installs current ‘Algorithm’ and is not responsible for constant ‘update’ or ‘upgrade’. 4. ‘Algorithm’ exclude protection of rights of the 3rd person, as wells as tactic assurance of its suitability and business for other certain objectives. And beyond, it does not assure any explicit, tactic and legal ‘solution’. Article 8. Illegal copy, change, use and returning goods 1. If an illegal copy of the ‘algorithm’ or use of it without authorization is caught, it will be considered as an intentional violation of our program copyright and a penalty of 30 times the license fee per one copy of ‘SDK’ shall be collected. 2. A ‘SDK’ purchased with license from our company can be used according to the specified purpose and range of use. However, the ‘development company’ is not responsible for errors or bugs of the additionally changed function and in case an error correction is requested, the ‘development company’ can either claim extra labor cost or arrange another company to the ‘user.’ 3. Secondary works of a modified ‘SDK’ cannot be generated, sold, rented and the ‘user’ shall conclude a re-license contract or a mutual alliance contract after a prior consultation with the ‘development company’ in order to enable such measures. 4. Regardless of the actual operation of the ‘algorithm’, using the whole or part of ‘SDK’ without our approval or permission goes for violation of legal rights and a civil and criminal liability shall arise. 5. The ‘algorithm’ and ’SDK’ purchased from the company is non-returnable, irrevocable, and non-refundable considering the characteristic of a digitalized product. 6. ‘User’ shall immediately delete all sources of the ‘algorithm’ as soon as the user right expires and if the whole or part of the ‘algorithm’ is considered to be operated or possessed in its original state or modified form afterwards, the ‘development company’ can make the ‘user’ take legal responsibility and the ‘user’ shall present a legal license regarding the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ which are under operation. Article 8. Illegal copy prevention function 1. The ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ exchange specific messages(information to prevent illegal copies) with the server of the ‘development company’ during operation in order for illegal copy prevention and copyright protection. It is impossible to delete the message exchange and log analyzing function and in case of violation including the relevance of a non- authorized user, the ‘user’ will be subject to the full penalty of law. 2. Legal actions are made without any warning notification for users holding the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’, not registered at the ‘development company.’ Article 10. Liability of reparation Executives, middle-management, staffs, partners, agents of the company as well as the ‘development company’, as a corporation, hold no liability for any direct or indirect result, accident or loss by using or not using the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ offered by the company. The ‘development company’ is not responsible for any kind of claim, compensation for damage, charge(including legal fee) resulting from use contract violation, illegal copy of program, contents after source code modification by the user. The ‘user’ completely bears all of the risk while using the ‘algorithm.’ The ‘development company’ or licenser, supplier, reseller shall write the whole or partial amount of operating income/loss, business suspension, sales information loss, breakdown or malfunction of computer, other commercial loss into the compensation for damage regarding any situation, legal theory, illegal act or contract, other circumstances. However, the ‘development company’ does not accept liability to the ‘user’ or a third party for any direct/indirect, special, subordinate, typical, inevitable loss, even though the possibility of loss was notified before. The ‘development company’ shall not be harmed by any direct and recognized loss occurring related with the use of the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK.’ Along with other limitations defined in this contract, the ‘development company’ explicitly does not accept any liability for incompatibility, flaws or limitations caused by standards used to run the ‘algorithm’ and ‘SDK’ or by other standards which are not exclusively controlled by the ‘development company.’ Article 11. Exemption from responsibility 1. The ‘development company’ does not accept any civil, criminal and reparation liability regarding the loss and illegal acts resulting from every action of the ‘user’ by using the ‘algorithm’ of the ‘development company’ and the ‘user’ is responsible for it. 2. The ‘development company’ does not accept liability for source leakage and damage of data caused by natural disaster or irresistible external invasion. 3. The ‘development company’ does not accept liability for any guarantee of a product information or service displayed by the ‘user’ using the ‘algorithm.’ 4. The ‘development company’ does not accept liability for the content of the ‘algorithm’ that the ‘user’ uses. 5. Regardless of legal fees, claim, or characteristic of the plaintiff, the ‘user’ shall agree to exempt, defend and protect the ‘development company’ and its affiliate, licensor and supplier from any debt and loss, payment request, legal procedure, injury, damage, cost and expense brought up by the ‘user’ and can be led to a claim by a third party. Article 12. Prohibition of assigning rights ‘User’ shall not transfer the rights and duties on this contract to a third party without a written consent by the ‘development company’ and can not lease or rent the ‘algorithm.’ Article 13. Confidentiality The ‘development company’ and ‘user’ shall not arbitrarily provide a competitor or other agency with the mutually related data acquired in the process of this contract and using the service and shall be responsible for any direct/indirect or exceptional loss of the opposition occurring from violation. Article 14. Regulation besides the terms Matters not specified in this contract shall abide by the Copyright law, Electronic commerce fundamental law, Digital Signature act, Telecommunications sales and lease law, and the regulation of relevant legislation. Article 15. Effective date of contract This contract will be effective simultaneously as the ‘user’ agrees to purchase the ‘algorithm’ or ‘SDK’ and purchases the ‘license.’ The ‘user’ carefully read and agrees to the overall regulations of this contract at the effective moment of contract. Article 16. Dispute and jurisdiction court 1. ‘User’ who violated the overall terms of this contract shall be liable for civil and criminal responsibility by the ‘development company.’ 2. In case a legal dispute between the ‘development company’ and ‘user’ occurs, the court which has jurisdiction over the location of the company will be designated as the competent jurisdiction. 3. If there is some dissent on the interpretation of this contract, all parties shall follow the opinion of the ‘development company.’ IRIENCE Co.,Ltd.
